This session is a great opportunity to:

  • Practice observing and conveying TEXTURE

  • Pick up drawing & landscape sketching tips

  • Develop a playful approach to COLOUR

  • LOOSEN UP & ENJOY your drawing more

Structure

This session is structured around 4 themes - House, Trees, Fells and Lakes. Each section contains multiple reference images for your to draw from. In the live call we used shorter warm ups before longer studies. With the recording you can give yourself as long as you like!

Jo will discuss her choices and method as she works. You will have chance to watch her drawing unfold, but the emphasis is upon drawing together, from a shared reference image.

Materials

You're welcome to work in any media of your choice.

As we want you to have chance to work from several images, materials that enable you to work quite quickly are most suitable. If working with wet media please note loose leaf paper is most suitable.

Colour Palette

In particular we'll be using - a subdued autumn palette - fading olive greens, ochres, russet, soft greys.

Recording

PLEASE NOTE - Recording expires 05/02/26
