Scribbles in the Sky Substack FAQ
What is Substack?
Substack is a publishing platform. It can be used to publish writing, visuals, video and voice notes. It can be accessed on desktop browsers or apps.
How does Substack work?
Creators can publish content in a few different ways.
Through the ‘Notes’ feed - which is similar to an Instagram or Facebook feed.
Through ‘Posts’ - content published here is shared directly with subscribers via email. This setting can be changed in Notifications settings.
Is it free?
Creators can choose whether to charge for the content they publish. Many offer a combination of free content and paid for content.
Charges for content operate by subscription. There are 2 main subscription options - a monthly subscription or an annual subscription. In addition to this there is a ‘Founding member’ subscription, which enables customers to add an extra contribution to the annual subscription fee.
What will Jo be offering?
Free Subscribers
A monthly article on creative practice featuring insights and practical tips to help your creativity thrive.
Paid Subscribers
For paid subscribers there will be monthly topics that relate to different aspects of drawing practice (aka skills). Each topic will be broken down with opportunities to learn spread through the month. The paid subscription offers:
as above
an Intro post that breaks down the topic with actions to help you start your own explorations
a Progress post where Jo shares her drawings, strategies & learnings
Then last but no means least there will be a Live co-drawing session to practice these skills together. This will be an opportunity to ask questions and celebrate both the successes and failures that go into learning. Live sessions will be recorded and available to watch any time
