This drawing was made from observation, en plein air (outside), on one of the first bright, spring-like mornings of the year (2023). Sketched with speed & only 3 tools, this artwork captures Jo’s observation of & response to the early spring sunlight as it illuminates an everyday scene in a pennine village. The brilliance of colour & textural marks of the original are faithfully reproduced, ensuring the image has lost none of its spontaneity in its reproduction. This image portrays the view from the bridge over the River Colne in Marsden village centre, looking up Marsden Lane.
